The infant care providers at Basic Beginnings are comprised of both full-time and part-time staff. Some have already completed their degrees, while others are currently students at the University of Wyoming, the Laramie County Community College, or Casper College. Some are Parents and Grandparents who enjoy working with very young children. Most have already completed their Infant and Toddler Director Credentials, and some are still working to finish theirs. With a certified trainer in the WestEd Program for Infant and Toddlers right on our staff, our infant care providers have ready access to very high quality information on the best practices for infants in care. In addition, several members of the infant care team have been chosen to participate in the Child Development Association program at the Albany County Campus of the Laramie County Community College.. All have been trained specifically in providing high quality infant care and meet the Department of Family Services requirements for working with this very special group of children.

• Kamie Dorssom, our Infant Program Coordinator, has her degree from the University of Wyoming in Child Development and has been with us for ten years. Kamie spends most of her time with our 6 weeks to 12 month olds and is certified by the State of Wyoming as an Infant and Toddler Director. Kamie was very instrumental in the planning and start-up of our infant program in 2001.
  
• Jan Lawrence, the Director of Basic Beginnings, has been nationally certified to teach the WestEd Program for Infant and Toddler Caregivers. This program allows our staff to work on their Infant and Toddler Director Credentials right in our facility. This also gives our infant care staff ready access to cutting edge research and information concerning the care and education of infants.
  
• Debbie Howshar has been with Basic Beginnings since 1985.  Debbie recently earned her Child Development Associate Credential and also holds a Wyoming Infant and Toddler Director Credential.
