	BASIC beginnings

Our History

Basic Beginnings was established in 1983 in response to the increased number of families with working parents. We understand that choosing the right environment for your child's care and education can be a difficult task, and that you want to feel secure and confident in your child's welfare while you are away at your job. We strive to provide that confidence by offering a safe, healthy and stimulating environment where children may grow and learn. We have a highly qualified and unique staff of trained teachers who understand that each child is an individual with unique feelings and needs. We have beautiful state-of-the-art facilities with enclosed classrooms for each age group, designed and built specifically for children. And we have a 24 year history of offering the nurturing and attentive care that you want for your child.

We believe strongly that childhood should be a happy, exciting time of life and that children should be encouraged to grow and learn at their own individual pace. Our educational philosophy is shaped by the child's need for exploration, creative expression, and positive guidance. Our curriculum is learning-center based for hands-on activity and to encourage success without stress in each child's day.

Our commitment to the safety and well-being of young children is evidenced by the awards and distinctions received by our center.

1999 Best Daycare in the State of Wyoming Outstanding Consumer Protection Award recipient.
2000 Best Daycare in Laramie in the Laramie People's Choice Awards.
2001 Early Childhood Employer of the Year presented by the Wyoming Early Childhood Association. We are active members of the Laramie Early Childhood Association, the Wyoming Early Childhood Association, the National Child Care Association, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 Blue Ribbon Award from the Wyoming Department of Agriculture Consumer Health Services. Basic Beginnings is the first, and to date, the only childcare center in the State of Wyoming to receive this award for high quality health and sanitation practices.
2004 - 2010 TANF Preschool Grant Recipient through the Wyoming Department of Education to provide a high quality preschool program for Laramie children.
2007 community-based Child Development Associate program in cooperation with the Laramie County Community College with funding from the WY Quality Counts program.
